The Vipers SC Fans Association is set for a memorable day of charity, football and recognition when supporters from across Uganda converge in Mityana District on Saturday, August 15, 2026, for a community outreach program before crowning the season’s outstanding fans during the annual Venomous Awards.
Organised under the umbrella of the Vipers SC Fans Association, the event is expected to attract hundreds of supporters from different fan branches in what has become one of the association’s flagship annual events.
The day’s activities will begin at Mityana General Hospital, where fans will donate essential supplies to expectant mothers and newborn babies as part of an initiative aimed at giving back to society beyond football.
From there, supporters will head to Katakala Playground for a friendly football match against a select team from the local community. The association will also extend a helping hand to elderly residents in Mityana through the donation of assorted essential items.
The celebrations will conclude with the Annual End-of-Season Dinner at Enro Hotel Mityana, where the association will recognise individuals whose dedication, commitment and passion stood out during the 2025/26 season.
This year’s awards carry added emotional significance, with some of the association’s most prestigious honours named after individuals whose contribution to Vipers SC and its supporters continues to inspire generations.
The highest individual honour, the Abubaker Lawal Fan of the Year Award, has been named in memory of the late Nigerian forward Abubaker Lawal, whose professionalism, humility and commitment earned him the admiration of the Vipers faithful. The award will recognise the supporter who has best embodied the values of loyalty, passion and unwavering commitment to the club throughout the season.
Another special recognition is the Rema Nakabuye “Maama Young” Award, named in honour of the late Vipers SC and Buganda football supporter whose passion for the game and unwavering dedication left a lasting legacy before her passing. Unlike category-specific awards, the Maama Young Award is intended to recognise an individual whose selfless service, commitment to the club and positive influence within the supporters’ movement best reflects the values she stood for.
The association will also present the Robert Kimuli Consistency Award, named after Robert Kimuli, the captain who led Vipers Sc then Bunamwaya FC to promotion to Uganda’s top flight ahead of the club’s debut in the 2006 Uganda Super League season. The award will honour the supporter who has demonstrated remarkable consistency through regular attendance, mobilisation efforts and unwavering support for the club throughout the season.
Beyond celebrating outstanding supporters, the Mityana programme reflects the growing role of the Vipers SC Fans Association in community development. Through charity, football and service, the supporters continue to demonstrate that their commitment extends far beyond the terraces.
