Ivan Bogere is set to leave Uganda Premier League side UPDF FC in this transfer window, Swift Sports Uganda understands.
This website has established that Bogere and UPDF have mutually agreed to end their marriage after just six months.
The former SC Villa forward joined the army side early this year following his departure at Tanzania side Tabora but has now opted to leave the Bombo based side.
Bogere began his football career at Proline FC whom he helped gain top-flight promotion in the 2018/19 season. In the same season he scored 15 goals and scooped the golden boot.
In that same season, Bogere played a vital role for Proline FC as the club won its first ever Uganda Cup at the Masaka Recreation Stadium after a tense 5-4 penalty shootout win over Bright Stars in the final. He was among the Proline players who scored their penalties.
In February 2021, Proline FC loaned Bogere to Wakiso Giants where he played until 2022 and later joined Uganda Premier League record champions SC Villa.
He left SC Villa in January 2024 and before his departure, he had scored two league goals in the first round of the 2023/24 season.
Following his departure at SC Villa, Bogere found solace at Tanzania side Tabora, where he scored eight goals across all competitions and made a couple of assists during his time at the club.
He was part of the national U-20 squad that won silver at the U-20 AFCON in Mauritania in 2021, he won the golden boot with the Hippos in 2020 in Arusha Tanzania as well as the golden boot after scoring five goals in the AFCON Qualifiers.
