Kampala boxers are currently in Gulu City ahead of their inaugural Inter-City fight night along with Gulu based boxers due this Friday, 31st at Bomah Hotel.
Before departure, Uganda Professional Boxing Commission President Eddie Bazira hailed Friends of Boxing who are fully behind the fight night in Gulu and also warned boxers over indiscipline.
“I take this opportunity to thank Friends of Boxing for the tremendous role they are doing for the game of Boxing. They have supported this fight and i am optimistic its going to be a great one. I thank the boxers for believing in us and i promise that we are still here to serve the game. I call upon the boxers to keep discipline while in Gulu and wish everyone success.” Said Bazira
The Inter-City fights are expected to be spread in different regions as per UPBC and Friends of Boxing in the bid to identify new talented boxers in several regions.
Bomah Hotel in Gulu will be the venue for the maiden fight night with a total of 12 bouts on the cards.
On Wednesday, boxers will undergo medical checkups with the weigh in slated for Thursday. Team Kampala also had a training session at Gulu City Boxing Youth Organization (Arena of Hope and Dream).
