The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed the departure of Crested Cranes Head Coach Sheryl Ulanda Botes.
In a statement released on 27th September 2026, FUFA announced that the coach and the Federation have mutually agreed not to continue and extend the contract, with immediate effect, ending her three-year tenure.
“Crested Cranes Head Coach Sheryl Ulanda Botes and Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) have mutually agreed not to continue and extend the contract, with immediate effect, ending her three-year tenure,” the statement read.
“FUFA would like to thank Sheryl for the good work done and wish her the best in the future.”
The development comes just days after Botes had named a 34-player provisional squad to prepare for the Olympic Women’s Football Tournament Los Angeles 2028 second round qualifier against Zambia.
FUFA is yet to announce who will take charge of the Crested Cranes for the crucial double-header against Zambia on 8th October in Kampala and a week later in Lusaka.
