SC Villa will return to action on Tuesday evening with the return leg FUFA Super 8 contest against Maroons FC at Nakivubo Stadium.
This fixture was set to be played on Friday last week but was postponed following the murder of SC Villa captain David Owori.
Owori was murdered by thugs on Tuesday night near his home in Makindye and was confirmed dead on Wednesday at Case Clinic in Kampala.
His last appearance for the club came on August 1st 2026 during the 1-1 first leg meeting against Maroons FC at Nakivubo.
FUFA competitions director Shawn Mubiru has on Tuesday confirmed that a two minute tribute will take place in honour of the late Villa skipper.
βIn honour of the late Captain David Owor, the Centre Referee shall stop play at the 15th minute of the match for a two-minute tribute as follows.β
1) One (1) minute of silence in memory of Captain David Owori.
β(2) One (1) minute of applause in celebration of his life and contribution to football. Play shall resume immediately after the tribute.β Noted Mubiru
Owori was buried on Saturday in Tororo District and so far Police has confirmed the arrest of nine who are suspected to be associated with his death. The winner between SC Villa and Maroons tonight will face NEC FC in the semifinal.
