The 2026 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) boys champions officially got underway on Monday at Lira Town College playground.
Defending Champions Buddo under the stewardship of Ssemakula Magulu cruised 2-0 past Teso College Aloet in their opening game.
Aaron Okello and Hilary Tumwine scored in either half for the three time competition winners.
Bukedea Comprehensive thrashed PP Newton 4-1 while Agape SS were 6-1 victors over Makobore High School.
Greenlight Islamic powered 5-0 past Dr Obote College whereas Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) drew 1-1 with Kalisizo Seed. Joram Mukisa had given JIPRA the lead before Abdul Murungi grabbed the equalizer three minutes into second stanza.
This championship featured comprises of over 64 schools with the four best placed schools at the climax representing Uganda at the 2026 FEASSA games due in Tanzania.
