Uganda Cranes players missed Saturday’s training that was to be held at Stade Olympique Annex, Rabat.
The Cranes were to train at 6Pm EAT but the players were of no show at Stade Olympique Annex with only the head coach and his coaching staff showing up at the venue.
According to sources, the players sat out for training in protest for not receiving $10000 each that was meant for their AFCON 2025 qualification.
Before their protest, the players on Friday met with FUFA President Moses Magogo over their issue but couldn’t reach a compromise.
The federation states that the government is responsible for making the payments.
It should be noted that in 2019, Uganda missed two training sessions under Sebastien Desabre ahead of their round of 16 tie against Senegal.
Uganda had train on Sunday behind closed doors with no media allowed.
The 1978 AFCON finalists will kick off their campaign against 2004 champions Tunisia on Tuesday night.
