Vipers SC returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Lugazi FC at the St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende on Thursday night.
The Venoms needed two late goals from Tarabina Biweribo and Abubaker Walusimbi to register their first win under the stewardship of John Ayala Luyinda.
Vipers came into this game after back-to-back defeats to Mbarara City and URA FC. They had also gone three games without scoring a league goal.
Against Lugazi, Tarabina gave the Venoms the lead in the 80th minute before Walusimbi sealed the victory in the closing stages of the contest at Kitende.
Vipers now move to seventh position with 14 points they have garnered in nine games they have so far played this term.
Abbey Kikomeko’s Lugazi are in the drop zone with eight points and in 15th position.
After the international break, Vipers will return to action with a home fixture against league leaders BUL FC on 18th November while Lugazi will visit Mbarara City on the same day.
