Vipers SC have issued an injury update on two key players ahead of their 2026/27 Uganda Premier League opener against Entebbe UPPC on Friday at St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
The Venoms confirmed that the duo of midfielder Enock Ssebaggala and defender Nicholas Mwere are in the final stages of their recovery.
According to the club’s medical update released on Wednesday, Ssebaggala, who has been sidelined with a knee injury, and Mwere, who picked up a hamstring problem, are making the latest steps in their rehabilitation. Mwere joined Vipers from BUL FC during this transfer window.
Both players have stepped up their recovery program with light individual training and gym work, but remain unavailable for selection for Friday’s league opener.

The club says their progress is positive, with the medical team monitoring them daily before they rejoin full team training.
Vipers, the defending champions, will open their title defence at home against Entebbe UPPC, and head coach Denis Lavagne will be hoping to have both players back in contention in the coming weeks as the fixture schedule intensifies to 34 games this season.
