Young Africans SC President Eng. Hersi Said says Allan Okello will always have a place at the club, even after the Ugandan star’s move to Morocco.
The Uganda Cranes attacker, fondly known as ‘Star Boy’, has completed his transfer to AS FAR Rabat where he will reunite with former coach Pedro Goncalves.
Okello joined Yanga in January and made an immediate impact.
In just half a season, the Ugandan international scored 14 goals and provided eight assists in 23 games as the Jangwani Boys retained the NBC Premier League title.
His creativity, goal scoring, and big-game composure quickly made him a fan favorite at the Tanzanian giants.
Confirming the sale, President Hersi praised Okello’s contribution and left the door wide open for a return.
“I want to tell you one thing. Although we have sold Okello, this is still his home. He can return whenever we want him back or whenever he wants to return,” Hersi said.
The remarks underline the strong relationship Okello built with the club, technical bench, and supporters in just 6 months.
Okello now heads to AS FAR Rabat in the Botola Pro, where he will link up again with Portuguese tactician Pedro Goncalves. The duo previously worked together at Yanga and delivered league glory.
For Yanga, the sale marks the end of a short but explosive chapter. For Okello, it’s the next step in a career that continues to rise after shining in Tanzania.
Okello has previously featured for KCCA FC and Vipers SC in Uganda and also had a stint at Algeria’s Paradou AC whom he left three years ago.
