SC Villa silenced their rivals Express FC with a 2-0 victory at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku on Wednesday.
Patrick Jonah Kakande and Andrew Otim scored in either half as the Jogoos secured back-to-back wins.
Kakande gave Villa an early lead in the fourth minute when he finished off a brilliant Ibrahim Kasinde cross.
Reagan Mpande also had a golden opportunity to double Villa’s lead, but his effort went inches wide.
In the second half, Shafik Batambuze twice fed Isaac Wagoina, who failed to hit the target for the Red Eagles.
Second-half substitute Otim, who came on for Isaac Gumperom, sealed the three points for Villa in added time.
Villa move into third place after a second consecutive win with seven points, while Express are ninth with three points.
Elsewhere, Lugazi FC stunned Entebbe UPPC with a 1-0 win at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.
Cromwell Rwothomio struck the all-important goal for Lugazi, who returned to winning ways following their 3-1 defeat at NEC last week.
Action in the Uganda Premier League resumes on Thursday as Police FC host UPDF FC at Kira Road Arena.
