NEC FC and Lugazi FC will seek to maintain their perfect start to the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League campaign when the two sides face off on Tuesday at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

Badru Kaddu’s NEC FC began their season with an impressive 2-0 win over KCCA FC in the Lugogo derby last Saturday, while Lugazi overcame newcomers Kigezi HomeBoyz 2-1 on the same day.

    Form Guide

Lugazi’s win over the debutants was inspired by former NEC forward Cromwell Rwothomio and defender Livingstone Mulondo, who both found the net.

The head-to-head record, however, favours the hosts. NEC has managed three wins in the previous four meetings against Lugazi FC.

    Team News

Kaddu’s side will be without midfielder Muhammad Senoga Kagawa through injury, forward Fahad Bayo is still recovering from a muscle strain.

Defender Ibrahim Musa will also miss the fixture after sustaining a knee injury involving a partial tear of the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL).

The visitors are without their best player for last season Abdul Kalanzi due to injury.

    What The Coaches Say

Badru Kaddu (NEC FC Head Coach):

“We have prepared our boys well. We performed well, scored two goals and didn’t concede and we shall entrust the lads with the same responsibility. Lugazi, just like us are a Premier League team and so we can’t underrate them. But I trust we have a team that can beat anyone.”

    Abbey Kikomeko (Lugazi Head Coach):

“The preparations we had during off-season gave us a good start and we shall approach the game against NEC in the same manner as we did in the 2-1 win over Kigezi HomeBoyz. NEC is a tough team and will have home advantage but we shall go there and fight for three points.”
