    Nanziri optimistic ahead of Title Fight in Kenya

    Fighters: Catherine Nanziri Vs Husna Zamba
    Title: Pugilistic Syndicate Super Featherweight Title Belt

    Olympian Catherine Nanziri will battle with Tanzania’s Husna Zamba on Saturday, 25th July 2026 in tbe pugilistic syndicate title fight at Kenya’s Edge Convention Center.

    During her debut pro fight, Nanziri knocked out Zamba in the first round at the MTN Omondi stadium in Lugogo four years ago.

    The Ugandan is optimistic that she will again prevail over the Tanzanian in the Super featherweight title fight.

    “I am so happy for this fight, I got a last minute chance to go for this title fight. I need a win to take the title back in Uganda. I am very ready to win another title having won the Ugandan title, East and Central title as well as the ABU title. This is going to be a very big mileage for me. I am so excited for the fight since I have trained well with the best coaches.” Said Nanziri

    During the weigh-in on Friday, Nanziri weighed 60.5Kg while Zamba had 61Kg before tomorrow’s showdown.

    Besides facing Zamba, Nanziri has also smiled to victory over another Tanzanian boxer Sadra Mohamed who she faced in June 2022.

    In fact, Nanziri has won her eight pro fights as per the boxrec while her opponent Zamba is yet to test victory in the previous eight fights.

    For starters, Nanziri is Uganda’s first female Olympic boxer having represented the nation at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games which were staged in 2021. At the time of her qualification to the games in Tokyo, Nanziri ranked 12th in world women’s flyweight and fourth on the continent.
