Friday July 24, 2026 – Amahoro stadium, Kigali
Vipers 3-0 Garde Republicaine
APR vs Gor Mahia 8pm
Farouk Miya undoubtedly took the headlines from anyone with two goals over Djibouti’s Garde Republicaine on his Vipers SC return at the ongoing CECAFA Kagame Cup in Rwanda.
Miya marked his return in the Vipers colours with broke a sensational free-kick in the 15th minute to sensational confirm his comeback.
The Uganda Cranes attacker doubled the Venoms lead in the 38th minute from close range.
Before the halftime breather, Karim Watambala made 3-0 after being fed by Odili Chukwuma.
The second half did not produce more goals as the Denis Lavagne’s side kicked off their CECAFA Kagame Cup with maximum points in Group A at the tournament in Rwanda.
The eight time Uganda Premier League champions have never won the competition before and will be seeking to become the fifth Ugandan side to clinch the title.
SC Villa (3), KCCA FC (2), Express FC and Police with one title each are the four Ugandan sides to have won the championship.
Rwanda’s APR and Kenya’s Gor Mahia are Vipers other opponents in Group A with the group winners sealing a semifinal slot. The two sides face off in later today.
