The FUFA Drum 2026 final is confirmed after a weekend of thrilling semi-final second-leg action. Lango Province and Buganda Province have secured their places in the grand finale.
Lango booked their ticket first on Saturday, 3rd October 2026, with a hard-fought 1-0 away win over Bunyoro Province, thanks to Emmanuel Oketch’s sole goal.
After a 0-0 draw in the first leg played on 26th September, Lango’s narrow victory was enough to see them through 1-0 on aggregate.
Lango under the stewardship of Bob Obira will contest in their third FUFA Drum final, having played in the 2022, 2024 and now 2025.
Buganda Survive Acholi Scare
Buganda Province are through to the FUFA Drum 2026 Final after a dramatic 2-1 victory over Acholi Province on Sunday, winning 4-1 on penalties.
Trailing 2-1 from the first leg played on 27th September, Buganda needed a response and got it in the second half at home.
Acholi struck first just after the restart through John Baptist Kica in the 46th minute to extend their aggregate lead to 3-1.
Buganda responded almost immediately, with Henry Wamala leveling matters on the day in the 48th minute. The hosts kept pushing and found the crucial second goal through Christopher Kamagu in the 76th minute to make it 2-1 on the day and 3-3 on aggregate.
With the aggregate tied at 3-3, the tie went to penalties where Buganda held their nerve to win 4-1 and advance to the final for the first time since the 2019 edition.
It sets up a mouth-watering final between Lango Province and Buganda Province for this year’s FUFA Drum trophy – “Celebrating Our Ancestry”. The date for the final is yet to be communicated by FUFA.
