The 2026 Buganda Kingdom organized Masaza Cup resumed over the weekend with match day one across the three groups.
In Masengere Group, three time champion winners Mawokota suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Kyaggwe in the match that was held at Buwama playground on Sunday.
New signing Lauben Lubwama scored the all important goal for Kyaggwe who started the Ronald Ssali era with a huge victors’
Ssese and Bulemeezi shared spoils in. 1-1 draw at Lutoboka on Sunday with Raymond Kayemba scoring for the home side while Shafiq Nyanzi leveling matters for the visitors.
Busiro and record competition Gomba played out to a goalless stalemate at Nnabingo .
In Muganzirwazza, Butambala powered 1-0 past Mawogola while Ssingo overcame Kabula 2-1 at Mityana Ssaza ground.
Shakulu Kapio and Mathew Luswabi netted for Ssingo while Amos Waga Leku struck a consolation for Kabula.
Bugerere and Kkooki shared spoils in a 1-1 draw in the other Muganzirwazza group game.
David Ovamas Opio scored for Bugerere before Collins Ocatre struck for Kkooki.
In Bulange Group, Busujju edged Buvuma 1-0, courtesy of Peterson Mudul.
Buddu register their first group match with a 2-1 win over Buluuli at the Kitovu sports arena. Ronald Obed Giu and Bryan Tumusiime scored two first half goals for three time winners Buddu.
13 goals were scored on the opening day of the prestigious competition which will resume this weekend.
