Finance Bank Women Super League champions Kawempe Muslim have signed forward Cecilia Apiding from Lady Doves.
Apiding becomes Kawempe’s first signing in the ongoing transfer window as the club looks forward to competing in the CAF Women’s Champions League.
” We are delighted to announce the signing of forward Apiding Cecilia from Lady Doves FC.” Reads a statement from Kawempe.
” Cecilia joins the Six Stars Champions ahead of the 2026/27 season, bringing quality, experience, and attacking strength to the squad.”
The former Olila High School forward adds options to the Kawempe attacking department which was a case of concern for the Ayub Khalifa coached side last season.
Kawempe heavily relied on Latifa Nakasi, Jovia Nakagolo, Asia Nakibuuka and Agnes Nabukenya while Shadia Nabirye struggled for fitness and consistency.
Kawempe are pitted in Group B of the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers alongside CBE of Ethiopia and Djibouti’s FC Ujeco.
The qualifiers will be held in Kigali Rwanda between 21st – 31st August with the eventual champions sealing a berth in the final CAF Women’s Champions League tournament.
