    Group stage Draw for sixth edition of Inter Islamic Secondary Schools Association of Uganda Games Held

    The Group stage draw for the 2026 Inter Islamic Secondary Schools Association of Uganda (ISSAU) Games has been held on Wednesday, June 24th at TopTimes High School in Kyengera.

    TopTimes High School head teacher Hamidu Ddumba, who is also the Chairperson of the ISSAU Sports Committee presided over the draw.

    This year’s event will have four sports disciplines which are Football, Netball, Volleyball and the newly introduced Basketball.

    Buziga Islamic and Theological Institute in Ggaba will host the 2026 edition. Previously, Madinah Islamic has hosted the event three times (2019, 2022, 2025), Hamdan Islamic were hosts in 2023 and Wakiso Muslim (2024).

    The games will officially begin on Friday, June 26, with indoor activities which are Quran recitation, poetry, public speaking (in both English and Arabic), Hadith, and quiz competitions.

    Action in football, netball, volleyball, and basketball will begin on Saturday, June 27, before climax on Sunday, June 28.

    In football, defending champions Greenlight Islamic Secondary School–Nansana have been drawn against Rabiha High School, Hamdan Islamic Secondary School, and Ibun Kathir Islamic School–Buwambo in Group A.

    Group has 2022 champions TopTimes High School, along with Kisasi Muslim Secondary School, Buziga Islamic Institute, and Kasawo Islamic Secondary School.

    Group C which has been dubbed as the group of death has Kampala Islamic Secondary School, Bilal Islamic School–Bwaise, Madinah Islamic Secondary School, and a yet-to-be-confirmed entrant (Late Comer 1).

    Nine schools have so far confirmed participation with defending champions Madinah Islamic Secondary School landing group A which has Buziga Islamic Institute, Kampala Islamic Secondary School, and Late Comer 3.

    Group B will have Hamdan Islamic Secondary School, Rabiha High School, TopTimes High School, and Late Comer 1.

    Last year’s runners up Greenlight Islamic Secondary School are in Group C, along with Bilal Islamic School–Bwaise, Ibun Kathir Islamic School, and Late Comer 2.
