Uganda has learnt its opponents for the CECAFA U-17 Championship at the draw held at the lavish Azam Studios in Dar-es-salaam, Tanzania on Wednesday, 23rd September 2026.
At the draw supervised by CECAFA Competitions Director Yusuf Mossi, hosts Rwanda were drawn in Group A with Sudan, Somalia and South Sudan.
Uganda Cubs will battle Ethiopia and Burundi in Group B, while Tanzania, Djibouti and Kenya are in Group C.
The championship will be staged in Kigali City, Rwanda between 10th and 19th October 2026.
With Kigali Pele Stadium and the FERWAFA grounds named as the two hosting venues for the tournament that will run for ten days.
The opening match day will be on 10th October 2026. Match day two will come on 12th October 2026 and match day three on 14th October 2026.
The top teams after the group stages will progress to the semi-finals alongside the best second-placed country. Three countries will advance to the U-17 Africa Cup of Nations finals.
CECAFA U-17 Championship Groups:
Group A: Rwanda, Sudan, Somalia, South Sudan
Group B:Uganda, Ethiopia, Burundi
Group C:Tanzania, Djibouti, Kenya
