    Bunyoro, West Nile fire blanks in FUFA Drum Quarterfinal first leg

    Bunyoro and 2023 West Nile faced off in the quarterfinal first leg of the FUFA Drum on Saturday at Royals Park in Butema.

    The two sides failed to produce a spark in the first leg meeting following a goalless draw in Butema.

    Following the goalless encounter, Bunyoro will travel to West Nile on Saturday 28th March to determine the aggregate winner who prevail to the semifinal of the prestigious competition.

    Meanwhile, 2019 winners Acholi drew 1-1 with Busoga in the other game on Saturday at Booma Stadium, with Dickson Matama scoring for Busoga before Brian James Obedi restored parity for the home side.

    Action will resume on Sunday, 22nd March, Teso will entertain Lango while Inaugural winners Buganda will take on Tooro in the other quarterfinal fixture.

    The province based annual tournament, themed on celebrating the nation’s ancestry, has so far attracted a number of sponsors like Rock Boom, MTN and Nile Special who were lured by the big fan numbers that grace the matches.
