Uganda Premier League table leaders Vipers SC will host struggling URA FC on Friday, 8th May under the lights of Kitende.

The Venoms need two wins a draw in their four remaining games to clinch their 8th league title this season.

David GOMBEUganda Premier League table leaders Vipers SC will host struggling URA FC on Friday, 8th May under the lights of Kitende.

Vipers is currently top of the table with 59 points they have garnered in the 26 games they have played and maximum points against the tax collectors will see them edge closer to the Margherita title.

Vipers played out to a 1-1 draw in their previous league game at KCCA before a goalless stalemate with Kitara in the semifinal first leg of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

The draw at KCCA saw the Venoms extend their unbeaten run on the pitch this season with their only defeat coming against Kitara in the boardroom.

For URA, they are just nine points above the relegation zone and aren’t yet safe heading to the final fixtures of the campaign.

Hussein Mbalangu’s charges are currently on 25 points and will need to redeem themselves at Kitende following the 2-0 Stanbic Uganda Cup defeat against SC Villa.

The tax collectors have now won against Vipers in the last eight encounters between the two sides and lost the reverse fixture 3-0 at Nakivubo. In fact their last win at Vipers was the 2-0 win at Kitende in 2021.

Former Venoms Dissan Galiwango, Moses Waiswa and Rahmat Ssenfuka are likely to face their former paymasters.
