    KCCA thrash Maroons to keep slim title hopes alive

    KCCA FC thrashed Maroons 3-0 on match day 27 of the Uganda Premier League at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo under floodlights.

    Ashraf Mugume, Herbert Achayi and Ivan Ahimbisibwe were on target for the 13-time league champions who returned to winning ways.

    David GOMBEKCCA FC thrashed Maroons 3-0 on match day 27 of the Uganda Premier League at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo under floodlights.

    Mugume gave the home side the lead two minutes to halftime breather after being assisted by Ivan Ahimbisibwe.

    The second half saw the Kasasiro boys scored two late goals through Achayi in the 86th minute whose long range shot from 35 yards hit the back of the net.

    Ahimbisibwe secured victory with the third and his 13th of the season in the 90th minute.

    KCCA after their 17th victory of the season are now second on the table with 55 points, four behind leaders Vipers who play URA on Friday.

    Maroons following their 10th defeat of the league campaign stay on 34 points.
