Kabale-based side Kabale City FC is set to lock horns with Kisoro side SC Volcanoes, as the league leaders travel for their second fixture within one week in the FUFA Western Regional League 2026.
The match is scheduled for Sunday March, at 4:00 PM at Kabale Municipal Stadium.
Kabale City currently sits in 5th position on the league table with 13 points and a +2 goal difference from 9 matches played. A victory on Sunday against Mutolere SC (SC Volcanoes) would lift Kabale City to 16 points, potentially pushing them into 3rd place.
That scenario will see Kabale City move ahead of Rwampala Bulls, who are currently in 4th place with 14 points and a +5 goal difference, and Rwenshama United FC, who sit 3rd with 15 points and a +3 goal difference. If Kabale City secures all three points and their rivals fail to win their fixtures, the Kabale side could significantly tighten the race for the top four positions.
Kisoro-based club Sc volcanoes tops the league table with a perfect 30 points from 10 matches, opening a seven-point after a hard fought 1-0 against Kihihi young boys leading over second-placed Six O’clock FC, who have 23 points.
The upcoming fixture will also mark Volcanoes’ second match within a week, following their hard-fought 1–0 victory over Kihihi Young Boys FC on Tuesday, 10 March in Kanungu.
SC Volcanoes will be aiming to maintain their impressive momentum and strengthen their grip at the top as they pursue qualification for the FUFA Big League playoffs, the next step toward Uganda’s top-tier football.
On the other hand, Kabale City will be determined to defend their home ground and boost their chances of finishing among the top four teams in the Western Regional League standings.
